The problem is solved much of the time by resetting your Kobo and ADE’s authorization records.
First, reset your Kobo Authorization
- Make sure that your Kobo ereader has the right date and time settings.
- In the Preferences menu on your Kobo, you can locate them.
- Connect your Kobo to your computer (using your Kobo USB cable).
- On your screen, open ADE.
- Using ADE to delete the ebook causing problems from your Kobo and computer (see Library Uninstall option).
- Under “Devices” on the bottom, click on your Kobo.
- Next to Applications, click on the device options icon, and select App Authorization. To verify, press Delete Authorisation.
Reset the Authorization In ADE
- In ADE, click on your keypad on Ctrl + Shift + D (Shift + D on a Mac).
- Enter your Adobe or OverDrive account password (and verify that the appropriate Adobe ID or OverDrive account is specified in the drop-down menu) in the pop-up window which opens. Click on the Start click.
- Choose Erase permission, then OK.
- Allow your computer to go to Help > Allow the computer again.
Note: Join the same Adobe ID or overDrive account as previously, to reauthorize your device. You will not be able to download your ebook from the digital collection of your library otherwise.
Try to Transfer the eBook Again
- Delete the ebook that created problems from the digital catalog in your library.
- Move your ADE ebook to your Kobo. You must also reauthorize your Kobo this move.
- Try to open the Kobo title.
Seek a factory reset while you still have problems.
You typically have to reboot the factory on your Kobo if your authorization does not work. Please notice that all details saved on your Kobo will be removed when you do so. After taking all of those moves above, make sure you don’t want to miss something on your Kobo. Close ADE and remove your Kobo.
- As stated above, all your details will be deleted. You need to automatically restore your eBooks when you sync next, but please remember to backup it before resetting.
- Make sure you’re linked to Wi-Fi when setting up your device. Accept any instructions for updating the device.
- Plug the Kobo back in and activate the ADE.
- Seek again to pass the title.
